Frieze Writer’s Prize 2010

I am currently trying to finish off a review I am entering into Frieze Magazine’s New Writer’s Prize.

Frieze Writer’s Prize was established in 2006 and is presented annually. The aim of the prize is to promote and encourage new art critics from across the world. Writers are invited to submit an unpublished 700-word review of a recent contemporary art exhibition.

The winning entrant will be commissioned to write a review for the October issue of frieze and be awarded £2,000. Although the prize is highly competitive, it’s worth submitting something as it will read by the prize judges: Boris Groys (philosopher and critic), A.M. Homes (writer and novelist) and Jörg Heiser (co-editor of frieze magazine).

So even if you don’t win it’s an amazing opportunity to have your work read by industry professionals. The closing date is Friday 25 June so I’d better get a move on…
